Regulating Evolutionary Individuals
Biological technicians working in a microbiological context typically research living microbes and perform methods specific to microbiology, similar to staining specimens to help identification. We are a group of scholars and teachers and college students dedicated to be taught, research, and collaborate across a spectrum of disciplines in the life sciences. BTO is helping the Department of Defense to counter novel forms of bioterrorism, deploy innovative biological countermeasures to guard U.S. forces, and speed up warfighter readiness and overmatch to confront adversary threats. In light of Campus closure relating to COVID-19, staff within the school of Natural and Health Sciences are working remotely and faculty are teaching courses nearly in an effort to best support our campus neighborhood. We ask on your persistence as some services may be limited and response time might enhance.
Many courses are designed to be small, extremely interactive programs by which college students engage in research, aspect-by-side, with dynamic professors. Schnitzler and colleagues publish paper in Science demonstrating historical, shared origin of germ cells between Cnidarians and humans. Biological technicians might advance to scientist positions, such as microbiologist or biochemist and biophysicist, after a few years of expertise working as a technician or after earning a grasp’s degree or Ph.D. Gaining more expertise and better levels of training often allows organic technicians to move into positions corresponding to natural sciences managers or postsecondary teachers.
