How Science & Technology Are Related
There are great uncertainties within the process that starts with primary analysis and ends with an economically profitable technology. The profitable discovery of a new growth in research that appears to have technological significance doesn’t ensure the economic success of technologies that could be based mostly on it.
Some current literature tends to swing in direction of the opposite and suggests that expertise precedes science. Elsewhere, I described the event of a profitable corkscrew by a Dutch company named Brabantia ( de Vries, 1994a ).
